LETTERS FROM THE PAST

This blog is to honor those who have come before us. These are family letters that I have had for years and wanted to be able to share them with family. It's an interesting way of knowing how life was in the past.

Myron F Taylor with 3 of his buddies in 1952. Over the last 20 years I've been working on our family letters. Letters that have been passed down. Including letters from my parents to my great-grandmother. Every letter was saved by my great grandmother and grandmother. I hope someday to either print them or give them to a museum. I am copying the letters–not being able to photocopy all of them. Each letter is in script. I know today very few can read them. I hope you enjoy them.

Dear Folks,

Well guess I’ll drop you a line or two.

Well I’m good as ever. Although I’m in the hospital with the flu, they send you there if you got a cold. Don’t worry I’m Okay. They just don’t care for us getting sick is all. There in the field now on a problem. I went out with them got the chills so they brought me back. I’ll be out in a day or two. Well mom I’m felling good outside of a cold. So don’t worry. I got your pagage’s and the one from Morris, or two or what ever it was. Thanks a lot. Maybe I can get you something later on, but the whole camp, Camp Haan, and Marsh Field is quarantined so we can’t get out of camp for 21 days, from today.

Haven’t had much time before, so please don’t feel hurt. I’ll get you something later on. Well mom, I’m really allwright so don’t worry. Will close for now.

Love,Mat

PS Tell Jr to get his flizer (?) fixed. That’s all.

Write to my regular address. You’ll never reach me through an Army Hospital.
